Once upon a time, when I was a kid, I paid a visit to the Mad Men of Madison Avenue and Bill Gaines, the publisher of Mad Magazine.
Later on, while working in a deli in The Village, I met a strange blonde dressed like a spy. She recruited me into The Graphic Mafia headed by George Lois. I was looking forward to becoming a made Mad Man by holding in my hands a burning picture of Saint Muhammad Ali while reciting an oath to make money for clients with my big ideas. It all becomes part of a wish made in a sixth grade English class in The South Bronx to live my life like a Great American Novel, one that reads like the science fiction of comic books and worthy of being submitted to my Fortress of Solitude, The Hunt’s Point Public LibraryOh boy! My wish came true! And now to turn people into superheroes!
